Nad and I daydream. It’s classic, from the very first day I met her I walked into a Whistler daydream—it involved British Columbia, hot chocolate, (faux) fur coats, panthers for pets and a dog walking business. Four years later, this is our favourite past time. Inventing things in our minds, making the world into a place where we want to live and want to  thrive. This business, the House of Ginger (just one of the twenty names we came up with) is our dream for the future. I want a home that I can turn into a coffee shop, an old style Victorian home, Marie Antoinette colours outside as well as inside. Potentially a Streetsville-like location. White picket fence, wrap around porch cluttered with patio swings and wicker furniture. Inside? Old photos, sepia tones wrapped in thick, chunky, baroque style frames. Downstairs? A coffee shop. Lattes of any kind, any flavour. Desserts (by Josephine)—anything you can imagine, eclairs, biscottis, cupcakes, brownies, gosh, an entire room filled with desserts. Wallpaper, a lot of it. Florals, Pinks. Taupes. Ivories. Seafoams. Upstairs? Library. Wall to wall bookshelves. Read a book, have a coffee, talk with friends. Be intellectuals. Be hipsters. Be happy. My books, of course, will be displayed in a glass case in the center of the room. Oh, and gingerbread cookies. Heads sold separately from bodies (mix & match), decorate your own. Bridal favours. The Backyard? A garden. Not just any garden, peonies, roses, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, everywhere. Gigantic. And a gazebo, with a make shift ceiling strictly from white Christmas lights. Seats, with chair covers and huge bows of wired ribbon, and sparkles. A pathway carpet, any colour you like. For weddings, showers, parties—I’ll cater too. A lake out back, with a walk out deck lined with more ribbon and light up boards. And canoes, and big stones that lead to the forest (for photos of course). Floating candles. Water lilies. Toads.
