I should be writing a paper comparing/contrasting the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust. And because there are no professional or proper ways to say everything that I should say, here is my layman's version of my paper--
In the cases of the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust a lot of people died. Like hundreds of thousands of people. Brutally murdered. In both cases, there are legions of folks who deny that they even happened and encourage the rest of the world to do the same. Differences? Oh okay. Well there weren't any gas chambers in the Armenian Genocide. No, instead the Turks just set the country's prisoners free to attack the Armenians during the death marches and let them rape, beat and murder those left. Umm, what else? Oh, the Jews were actually fed. Yeah. See the Jews were given food, even if just a tiny piece of bread or the smallest amount of soup-- they were still fed. You see the Armenians didn't eat. They didn't eat anything, ever. No they walked. They walked all day until they died. Some sat at the sides of the road and gave up, just waiting to die, the rest threw themselves into the River Euphrates. Is one worse? Is one better? They're horrific. What is there to compare and contrast? They are horrific in entirely different ways, on different levels. What the fuck would you like me to compare or contrast? There's my paper. There's my essay. People died. People were tortured for no other reason then being Jewish, or being Armenian or Cambodian or Tutsi or Hutu. That's it. These people committed no crimes, they didn't even resist, there was no retalliation ever...they just took it. They just waited to die, because they were born in a certain place. That's all. What is left to say that hasn't been said already?
