It isn't everywhere. You stumble upon it so randomly every once in a while, and then there's that moment, the instant when it happens and you look around to see if anyone else in the world has seen it just to make sure you're not the only crazy one. Romance. Someone once said that chivalry is dead-- it isn't, folks. It isn't, it's just...hiding, and every once in a while there's some guy who stops by the hiding spot and picks it up for a little trip. I say this because I heard the most romantic story today that I had to reach into my chest and still my crazy beating heart. Anyway, so the love of my life, Nadia, just celebrated her two year wedding anniversary. That alone (and the fact that she's been with Daniel for a gajillion fucking years) is pure beauty. But then there's this story, this tiny detail that is the absolute epitome of love. So she's telling me about their getaway and laughs at this last part-- they bought each other the same card.
I'm going to pause for a moment just so you can understand the greatness in that moment. In all the greeting cards in the world, in all the stupid poems that Hallmark works year-round to bring us, in all the dollar stores, supermarkets, drug stores-- they each went to Chapters and picked up the same card. My heart just stopped again. If you can't see the romance there, then I think you need to rush yourself to the nearest hospital just to ensure that you still have a pulse. They chose the same card.
They chose the same card.
And that's all.
